We understand how frustrating it is to have dry, wilted trees in your yard, especially when your home’s landscaping is such a significant investment.
At Valley Tree Care, we make your sick trees healthy—so you don’t have to replace them. For over 2 decades, Phoenix homeowners have trusted our tree doctors to revive their sick and diseased trees with our effective tree treatment process.
Our services include Plant Health Care, Tree Trimming, Tree Removals, Irrigation, and more!
We follow a trusted four-step process with implementable steps to optimize the health of your trees so that you can enjoy a lush, peaceful backyard oasis at an affordable cost.
First, we perform tree health diagnostics using the scientific method to observe your trees’ visible symptoms to determine their underlying health issues.
Next, we create a customized treatment plan to give your trees the necessary nutrients by adding the correct types and amounts of soil, minerals, and more.
After developing your treatment plan, our team feeds and fertilizes your trees to ensure they have the nutrients they need to survive and thrive.
Finally, we integrate reliable pest management techniques to prevent insects, rodents, diseases, fungus, and more from destroying your trees.
Tree Health Diagnostics - The Valley Tree Care approach to tree health is rooted in the scientific method. During your free evaluation and consultation, our trained and skilled tree care technicians observe every aspect of your trees in order to determine the source of the problem(s). Once we reach our conclusion, we take time to educate our customers and develop a treatment plan. Customers then have the option to purchase the entire treatment plan or any individual treatment(s) that were included in the overall plan.

I have an apricot tree that was struggling in the Phoenix heat and poor soil. The technician came out and suggested a feeding program. We went forward with it and the tree is doing wonderful. Within about two weeks from the feeding the tree's yellowing leaves began to noticeably green up and the branches began to grow very well. As a matter of fact this past summer the tree grew a couple of feet. It's flourishing now! I'm grateful for the tremendous service I received from Vally Tree Care.
My queen palm trees really took a beating during 2019-2020. One of them had a fungus or something and had long had a deformed crown and quit growing. We determined that one couldn't be saved, but the palm by the pool had quit sprouting new fronds and I really didn't want to lose it. Valley Tree Care came out and treated it and advised me of a better watering schedule to get through last year's extreme heat. It took several treatments and some patience but after looking dead as a doornail over the winter, in April it started to sprout and now looks terrific and healthy. Thanks to Valley Tree Care!
It’s no secret that unhealthy trees can become a point of contention with your homeowner’s association, an eyesore in the neighborhood, and an expensive hassle to maintain.

Run 1: opening of the watering-guide post (run-in heads).
Are you struggling to figure out the perfect winter watering schedule for your trees? Worry no more! We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Watering Guidelines PDF resource, available for download on our website.
Why a Customized Watering Schedule Matters
Each tree species has unique watering needs, which change with the seasons. Overwatering or under-watering can harm the health and growth of your trees. That’s why we’ve meticulously developed this guide that caters to different tree types, ensuring they receive the right amount of water at the right time.
What’s Inside the Guide?
Tree Type Breakdown: Detailed sections for different tree species, including different palms, desert trees, pines and fruit trees.
Seasonal Adjustments: Tailored advice for each season, recognizing that water needs vary from summer’s hot months to winter’s dormancy.
Gallons and Frequency: Specific recommendations on the amount of water (in gallons) and the frequency of watering for optimal tree health.
Run 2: first H3 section of the winter-pruning post (separator, H3, list).
Tree pruning during winter offers multiple advantages:
By pruning during the winter, you’re not just maintaining your trees’ health—you’re also taking proactive steps to keep your property safe.
Yellowing is most often caused by nutrient deficiencies (especially iron or nitrogen), improper watering, or root stress. Desert soils in Phoenix commonly contribute to chlorosis.
Signs include oozing sap near the trunk, exit holes, thinning canopy, or sudden decline in one section of the tree. The larvae tunnel inside the trunk and roots.
Deep water every 7-28 days depending on season, soil type, and tree age. Overwatering is the most common cause of decline, so allow soil to fully dry between cycles. Refer to our Watering Guide for more information
Fast growth, brittle wood, and dense canopies make Palo Verdes prone to storm breakage during monsoon season. Over-pruning and fungal cankers also weaken branch structure.
Sunburn (sunscald) often affects exposed green bark, especially after aggressive pruning. Temperature swings and structural weaknesses can also cause splitting.
Phoenix’s summers can be brutal—not just for people, but for trees too. If you’ve been thinking about adding new trees to your yard, timing is everything. While spring might seem like the right choice, local arborists agree: fall is the best time to plant trees in Phoenix.
After surviving months of intense summer heat, fall brings a welcome break with cooler temperatures and gentler sun exposure. This gives young trees a chance to settle in without the stress of high heat or heavy watering demands.
Cooler air + warm soil = perfect root growth conditions.
During fall, the soil remains warm enough to encourage root expansion, while the air temperature drops—reducing water loss from leaves and stress on the tree canopy.
Planting in fall allows your new trees to focus on root development instead of top growth.
By the time summer arrives, your trees already have a stronger, deeper root system to help them:
Absorb water efficiently
Resist drought and heat stress
Stay upright during monsoon winds
This is especially important for shade trees, citrus, and desert-adapted species that thrive in Arizona’s soil when given a strong start.
Stand-in: the served portrait (a crew member planting in gravel) is not mirrored; the kit's planting photo from the same shoot is cropped to its 223x335 slot.
Phoenix’s desert soils can be challenging, so pairing fall planting with proper soil amendments and irrigation setup is key.
Valley Tree Care recommends:
Soil conditioning to improve nutrient absorption
Deep watering schedules to encourage downward root growth
HydroGuard application for moisture retention and protection during winter chills
Planting in spring forces young trees to establish roots under rising heat, which can shock or even kill them if watering isn’t precise.
By planting in fall, you give your tree a six-month head start before temperatures climb again.
